If you need a piece of software for Windows that will convert AVCHD .mts files to a format more usable (such as HD MPEG-2), I strongly recommend you check out MTS Converter from ImTOO.  For $14.95 it’s a steal.  I’ll explain more later, but I tried about a half dozen other programs for the task of converting AVCHD .mts files and MTS Converter was the best combination of performance and price.

Monday night we cleared the last stuff from Grandma Welch’s old house.  I took this photo (among others) before leaving the house for the last time.

Thanks to the MacPromo bundle, I now have Parallels 4 on my MBP. I have Windows XP running in a virtual machine.
